"As a child, I played in my father's studio, steeped in the smells and sights of his art. On the riverbanks
and beaches, I skipped stones while Dad sketched. We spent endless hours wandering through galleries,
and countless more with colleagues, locked in art-bent conversation over streams of coffee. We travelled
together, tasting the world.

"Each painting is a glimpse of my life. Every brushstroke placed to capture a moment. Afternoon sunlight
laid across the water of a summer beach, heavy as gold, purpled at the edges with the promise of
evening. The smell of the sea drying on the rocks. The sound of my children’s laughter fluttering on the
air. Each moment, each painting is a chance to learn and grow. To discover my voice and what I want to
say.”

In the course of his nearly 30-year career in the arts, Mark Heine has toured the world, teaching and
exhibiting his art. His work with Disney, Microsoft, Pepsi and many other clients has won numerous
national and international awards, and is found in collections throughout North America and abroad.

Mark, his two daughters Sarah and Charlotte, and his partner Lisa live in beautiful Oak Bay, Victoria,
British Columbia, Canada.
