Mark's just completed my 5th stamp comission. This one for Canada Post, is due to be unveiled in the spring of 2012. There's a newspaper article available regarding the making of at this link ... Mark has also begun a series of paintings for the Post Office of Lichtenstein. Destined for 12 new postage stamps, these paintings will feature vintage automoblies. This is Mark's second edition of stamps for Lichtenstein, the first were oil paintings of the Lichtenstein ski team for release during the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver...

Mark Heine is pleased to be invited to present his Oil and Water & Pixels seminar, hosted by ... Sequoia Gallery and Studios, in Hillsboro, Oregon on April 13th, 14th &15th, 2012. The Federation Of Canadian Artists, Vancouver, BC, Canada on May 11th, 12th &13th Mark will discuss and demonstrate his particular philosophies in regards to concept, content, composition and technique in his approach to making art. The workshop will include live demonstrations in texture and ground colour application, Photoshop use for digital material preparation and Mark’s approach to paint application using water soluble oils. Other topics for discussions will include materials, mediums, surfaces, finishes, promotion, promotional materials, galleries and the internet. Assisted by one-on-one coaching, students will complete their own painting. The 3 day time frame, allows for a useful, mid-painting as well as final critique at the end of days 2 and 3. Swiftsure Breeze by Mark Heine received the Figurative Award of Excellence at the Federation of Canadian Artists Annual International Representational Show (AIRS). The painting is now on display at the Avenue Gallery in Oak Bay, Victoria B.C.

Estranged, by Mark Heine was awarded first place at the 2010 American Art Awards.
Heine's second painting Thin Air  was also a winner, awarded the runner-up position
of second place in the same, category... Impressionist figure painting.

Parade Floret by Mark Heine has been chosen by jurors, as the best painting (Best 2-D) entry, from the 1400 entries to the Sooke Fine Art Show for 2010. This award, is defined as the top pick amongst paintings of all media... oil, watercolour, acrylic, digital , etc. and is accompanied by a $1000 cash prize. . A second painting, Earthdaze, was also selected for inclusion in the show.
